There are a few things we do differently than most of the
photographers you may have encountered before, and we think
you'll agree that the differences will make your overall
photographic experience more rewarding.
1. The "Print Package Mentality" is archaic and a
money-grab, so we've completely abandoned it. I'm sure
you're familiar with it: "Package A" consists of one 8x10,
one 5x7, two 4x6s, etc., for however many dollars. "Package
B" contains one 8x10, two 5x7s, three 4x6s, etc., for a
little more than however many dollars — and so on and so
forth. Then, on top of the print package price, the
photographer charges their hourly fee. This works great for
the photographer, simply because it's a guaranteed way to
make a profit — and selling prints is where the real $$ is.
We don't like that methodology. We feel it makes more sense
for you to choose — or not choose — to buy any quantity of
any size print you want. No pressure, no pre-purchase, no
limiting sizes, no limiting quantities, no price-gouging
for extra prints — you get what you want, and only what you
want.
2. We don't sell prints. That's right, we don't
get into the business of selling prints. After we
post process all of the images from the shoot, we burn a CD
of high resolution images for you. You get the CD and
can do whatever you want with the images. You can
upload them to any number of on-line photo labs (I can make
some recommendations of the best), or you can take them to
Walgreens, Sam's Club, Wally Mart, etc.
3. We come to wherever you want. We've found
that by taking pictures in a comfortable environment we get
much better results. What could be more relaxed and
comfortable than having pictures taken in your own home?
We bring in our lights and backdrop (typically white
or black works best) and set up at your place. This
allows for a more comfortable setting, wardrobe changes as
needed, and kids tend to have more fun and be more
attentive in their own homes.
Our pricing is simple, we charge a flat rate which includes
our time to come to your place, set up, take as many
pictures as possible in various poses and outfits as needed
and tear down. We allocate around 2 hours for all
this. After the shoot, we will fully post-process each
image to make sure each look as good as possible, and we
burn all of the "keeper" shots to a CD for you.
